Site Requirements
This Web site requires the use of JavaScript-enabled Web browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.x (or better)
- Netscape Navigator 4.x
- Adobe Acrobat. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat currently loaded on your computer, click here to download.
If you have a problem printing when using a Netscape browser, use a screen capture program to print pages or Internet Explorer.
How to Use the Navigation
The three navigation categories, which are explained in detail below, are:
- Audience (Residents, Visitors and Businesses)
- Intention (Services and I Want to)
- Departments (Town departments and agencies)
Audience Navigation
- If you live in town, you will want to choose the resident category so that you can get to the information you need quickly.
- If you do business in the town, you may want to select the business category to get business information easily
- If you are planning a visit to the town, you may want to select the visitor category to learn quickly about events, shopping, restaurants, parks or other areas of interest.
Intention Navigation
Services Section
- Use the Services section when you know what you want to do, but don't know where to turn. Town Services will steer you in the right direction.
- The Services section provides information based on areas of interest, including land use, education, recreation, health, public safety, resources, careers, business and the town.
- Each home page, including the Resident, Business, and Visitor home pages, provides a Services section that includes links to categories of interest and quick links to pages within each category.
"I Want to" Section
- Use the "I Want to" section when you know exactly what you want, but don't know how to get it.
- The "I Want to" section links to the most frequently requested services and the links will change during the year. Key departments have "I Want to" sections, specifically related to a department.
Departments Navigation
You can access town departments and agencies from the home page, click on Town Departments in the left-hand column. You can select a department from the alphabetical list.
Other Useful Features
First Selectman's Section contains information from the First Selectman, Board of Selectmen and other elected officials.
Services Online includes forms, applications and permits. You can also use a credit card to pay your real estate, motor vehicle and personal property taxes and to order copies of birth, death and marriage certificates.
Quick Links leads you to town departments, agencies and services, town calendar,
Frequently Asked Questions, forms, applications and permits,
the site tour, translation feature and a link to web resources.
News provides you with timely and interesting information about events, emergencies, meetings, etc.
Translation feature lets you select a language for a particular page. Languages are: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and German. Click on the flag that represents a particular language and the site will be instantly translated into that language.
Site Tips
- To return to the Greenwich homepage, click on the word "Greenwich" in the masthead
- To return to a department homepage, click on the department name at the top of the department page.
- To return to the Residents, Visitors or Businesses homepage, click on the word "Residents, Visitors, or Businesses" at the top of the page.
Search
It's easy to search. Type in a few words. Use terms that are likely to be found in the documents you want.
The more words you type, the better the search results. The results you see will reflect the document that is
most "relevant" to the words you are searching for.
Emergency Email Notification List
As part of an on-going attempt to keep the public informed, the Town of Greenwich has instituted an email
notification system for local residents. The only requirement is your email address and a password. Once registered,
you may use this information to log-in and edit your information and unsubscribe to the emails if you like.
