Phase II of Lake Avenue and Lower Cross Road Road Construction to Begin
The Engineering Division has announced that construction for Phase II of the Lake Avenue and Lower Cross Road intersection will begin on May 21, 2018. The road construction involves drainage improvements - detour routes will be necessary. The Press Release contains more information as well as a map with detour routes.

Replacement of Round Hill Road Bridge

The 2017 Annual Report for the General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater (MS4)
In accordance with the DEEP General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) the 2017 Annual Report is now available online and in the Town’s Engineering Division in Town Hall.

Improvements to Lake Avenue and Lower Cross Road Intersection
The project involves road construction and drainage improvements along Lake Avenue and Lower Cross Road. Phase 1 begins Monday, April 2, 2018 and consists of Lake Avenue being closed to thru traffic from Lower Cross Road to the driveway of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, (approximately 300 feet). Read more.

New Application Form for Highway Permits
The Highway Division of Public Works has updated the Highway Permit Application. Please review the new application in its entirety to familiarize yourself with the new requirements for submissions for all New Construction, Driveway and Drainage applications. Holly Hill Dump Stickers
The Department of Parks and Recreation has discontinued the Park Pass decals for vehicle windshields. Many residents used those stickers for entry into the Waste Disposal Transfer Station. The 2016  sticker WILL be accepted at Holly Hill (the Transfer Station) to gain entry. If you do not have a  Parks and Recreation 2016 decal on your vehicle you may obtain...

Credit Cards Now Accepted in DPW
DPW now has the capability of processing credit cards for permit payments in the Highway, Sewer and Building Inspection Divisions. Effective immediately we will now accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover;  we hope this will be a more convenient, efficient process for those obtaining a permit in these divisions.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) reports to the First Selectman. It is headed by the Commissioner of Public Works, who is responsible for all matters involved in the construction, development and maintenance of the physical properties of the town, except for the design and maintenance of school property. The department also provides technical and engineering services to other town departments and agencies.
