The Community Gifts Program uses private donations to provide concrete assistance to eligible residents at specific times throughout the year. Clients must have income below 175% of federal poverty guidelines to qualify. Referrals are accepted from all sources. Effort is made to coordinate assistance with other human service agencies to avoid duplication. Aid is provided by generous private individuals, groups, and firms. Clients are identified and assistance is issued through Department staff. Donations are overseen by an independent fiduciary and do not become Town funds.
