
FEMA Grant for Snowstorm Received As reported previously, the Federal Emergency Management Agency approved the town's application for reimbursement of snow removal expenses incurred for the snowstorm of January 22, 2005. The Town has recently received this reimbursement in the amount of $182,436.78 that has been deposited into the General Fund.
The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation has provided Greenwich a State-Town Aid Grant of $243,618 for improved and unimproved roads in town. The funds are paid semi-annually. The first installment of $121,809 has already been received. The second installment of $121,809 will be received in January 2006. These funds are earmarked for paving projects throughout the town.
DPW is preparing to apply for the LoCIP (Local Capital Improvement Program) grant from the State of Connecticut. Our filing this year is expected to add approximately $330,000.00 to the Town's General Fund. These funds are applied to maintain the town's infrastructure.
