Town Government-Access Channel 79 Launched
If you don't get a chance at attend RTM meetings and you want to know what is being discussed at them, turn on Channel 79 at 4 p.m. or 8 p.m., as long as you are a Cablevision subscriber, and you can watch them, starting with the September 15 RTM meeting.
"I am excited that we are using television to show people how our Town works and the issues we discuss," said First Selectman Richard Bergstresser at the RTM meeting. "Not everyone can attend a public meeting, but by televising them, our citizens can get ideas about where they want to volunteer. I see this as a positive vehicle to get more people actively involved in our government.
"Our intent is that each Town meeting will air on the Cablevision channel on the day followng the meeting and it will be repeated each day for about a week."
Other program elements include a calendar of upcoming Town meetings and a welcome from the First Selectman.
