Parking Meter Rates and Fines Increase
Parking meter rates in Greenwich increased on March 1, 2007. The parking rate for all long term 8-12 hour meters was raised from 25 cents to 50 cents and the short term meters on Greenwich Avenue, Putnam Avenue, Amogerone Crossway, Lewis Street, Elm Street, Griggs Street, and Rail Road Avenue to include the Soundview Arch Street parking lot were increased from .50 cents to .75 cents.
In addition to the parking meter rate increase there is an increase to parking meter violation fines. Overtime parking raises from $15.00 to $20.00, and the meter feeding violation fine from $50.00 to $55.00 with a stipulation if the fine is paid by close of business the following day it will be reduced by $5.00.
