
Citizen's Police Academy - Winter 2006 The Greenwich Police Department is accepting applications for the Citizens Police Academy Winter 2006 Session. The 10-week program will commence on January 4th 2006 and meet each week from 7-10 pm at the Greenwich Town Hall. Graduation will be held on March 15th. Completed applications and a motor vehicle operator's license photocopy must be received at the Greenwich Police Department Training Division no later than December 21st, 2005.
The Citizens Police Academy is a program that provides Greenwich residents with a first hand overview of the law enforcement and community related functions of the Greenwich Police Department.
Topics of instruction include: Accident Investigation, Crime Trends & Prevention, Motor Vehicle Stops, Narcotics Investigations, Police Canine, Special Response Unit, Crime Scenes, Criminal Law, Use of Force and Supreme Court Law.
Instructors for the program will be highly trained and experienced Greenwich Officers.
There is no fee for the ten-week program. Any Greenwich resident 21 years of age or older may apply. Seating will be limited to 25 persons. Due to the high demand for this class, qualified applicants will be subject to a lottery drawing to determine the final class roster.
A criminal history background check will be performed on all applicants. If accepted, you will be contacted by the Greenwich Police Department to confirm your attendance approximately two weeks prior to the first class.

January 4, 11, 18, 25 February 1, 8, 15, 22 March 1, 8, 15
