The board consists of five members appointed by the Representative Town Meeting on nomination
by the Board of Selectmen to serve 5 years.
Each member shall be a licensed professional engineer or architect, or a builder or
superintendent of building construction with at least 10 years experience in
construction design, construction supervision or construction of buildings, five
of which shall have been in responsible charge of work. At no time shall there be more
than two members of the Board selected from the same profession or business; and at least
one of the professional engineers shall be a licensed structural or civil engineer of
architectural engineering experience. (Chapter 541, Part Ia, Sec. 29-266 C.G.S.)
and Sec. 124.0 of State of Connecticut Building Code.

Any person may appeal from a decision of the Building Official concerning the manner
of construction or materials to be used in the erection, alteration or repair of
a building or structure to the Building Code Board of Standards and Appeals.
