Bring your old sneakers to one of the following drop-off sites: The Bruce Museum, Holly Hill Recycling Center, Neighborhood Fire Stations, Old Greenwich Tennis Academy or Greenwich Green & Clean (next to Pemberwick Park).

Stepping in the Right Direction
The Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board is pleased to report the success of the fifth annual used sneaker collection which ran from mid-March through April 2010 and garnered over one and a half tons of shoes – estimated at around 4,000 pairs. Hundreds of better quality shoes were separated and donated to Neighbor to Neighbor and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission or have found homes in Haiti, Peru and the Dominican Republic. The bulk will be ground up and used to create athletic tracks and playground surfaces through the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program.
We thank everyone who took a step in the right direction by keeping sneakers out of the waste stream.
