State Amends 1999 Building Code As of September 1, 2004 the State of Connecticut adopted the "2004 Amendment to the 1999 CT State Building Code. This amendment replaces the 1995 CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code with the 2003 International Residential Code; the 1995 CABO Model Energy Code with the 2003 International Energy Conservation Code and the 1999 National Electrical Code with the 2002 National Electrical Code. All three of these codes will be effective for all permits applied for on or after September 1, 2004.
Any permit application received on or before August 31, 2004 will continue to be regulated by the previous codes listed under the 1999 State Building Code.
