River Road Closure: Lane Closure for Bridge Rehabilitation Bridge No's. 03957 and 056-058 over Strickland Brook, Town Project No. 05-58.
Commencing on September 20, 2010, construction will begin on the rehabilitation of River Road Bridge over Strickland Brook. The project will consist of repairing the existing cement rubble masonry wingwalls, installing one new catch basin and pipe, and the installation of metal bridge and guiderail.
As part of the construction work the eastbound lane is scheduled to be closed at the bridge on or about Monday, October 11, 2010 through the week of October 25, 2010. The bridge repairs are scheduled to be completed in November 2010.
This Project is being managed by the Public Works Department Engineering Division. The design work was completed by BETA Group of Rocky Hill, CT. Construction is being performed by A. Vitti Excavators, LLC of Stamford, CT. The Construction contract for the project is for $284,785.00.
The following Detour will be established:
Traffic wanting to travel eastbound on River Road shall take Strickland Road north to East Putnam Avenue (Route 1) east to Mead Avenue south to River Road.
