News:

Recycle Sneakers March 21-April 28
Bring old sneakers to one of the following drop-off sites; The Bruce Museum, Holly Hill Recycling Center, Neighborhood Fire Stations, Old Greenwich Tennis Academy or collect old sneakers at your own site and bring them to the one-day collection on April 28 from 9am-2pm at Greenwich High School parking lot.

Sneakers must be dry, with or without laces, any brand. No cleats or street shoes.

Sneakers will be sliced and ground into rubber pellets, and used to create playground and athletic surfaces. Connecticut will be on the cutting edge as it launches the fifth annual state-wide recycling program for sneakers. The Connecticut Recyclers Coalition (CRC), in partnership with the National Recycling Coalition and Nike, is sponsoring Nike Reuse-A-Shoe collections at various locations state-wide. For additional information, call 203-629-2876, or e-mail daviesally@aol.com. Sponsored by Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board
