Draft 2008 Plan of Conservation and Development The Draft 2008 Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) is now available. It is anticipated that the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public meeting in the middle of September for public input and comment and then hold a public hearing in October for the adoption of the 2008 Plan of Conservation and Development that will then go to the RTM for their review and approval. Please check back for exact dates and times.
State Statutes require communities to review, develop and update their plans of Conservation and Development every ten years. Greenwich's last plan of 1998 is now being updated and reviewed to meet that requirement. Developing a new 2008 Plan of Conservation and Development involves an intensive visionary process that requires public input on problems and issues affecting Greenwich today and the direction the town should take over the next ten years. P&Z developed this plan by holding a series of public workshops and meetings within various neighborhoods as well as town wide meetings on topics such as Conservation, Development and Infrastructure.
Planning and Zoning Commission met regularly with our consultant Planimetrics, Town officials and staff, and interested town organizations and citizens to review, discuss, and refine the data and recommendations that are included in the Plan. Our meetings for citizen input will continue thru December and by late Spring 2008 the goal is to have a draft document available for public review and comment.
Your opinions are vital!!! Please check our Planning and Zoning Website regularly for meeting locations and times. Our P&Z website will be constantly updated to help you keep informed on the progress and processes. If you have any questions, please correspond on line or call our offices at 622-7894.
