On September 9, 2017, the Greenwich Skate Park will be celebrating the grand reopening of its all new cement Skate Park. The Skate Park was first built through a collaborative effort between the Junior League of Greenwich and the Town of Greenwich, Parks and Recreation Department, and was gifted to the town in 2003. After fourteen years of use it was time for the Skate Park to get a face lift.

The all new cement Skate Park will now allow bikers and scooters as well as skateboarders.

The Skate Park is set to open on August 26 from 12:30 pm to 7 pm.  Anyone coming to the park on that day can skate or bike for free.  Bikers will need to remove their bike pegs to ride the park. All participants must register and sign a waiver. Skaters or riders under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the registration/waiver form.

Our grand opening event will take place on Saturday, September 9th from 12 pm – 4 pm.

The grand opening will feature free skateboard lessons from 12 – 12:30 pm, or 12:30 – 1 pm.  Advance sign up is recommended to insure a space, and to get a free Skate Park T Shirt.

After the free lessons we will have a skateboard competition for intermediate and advanced skaters.  Pre-registration is encouraged, and anyone who signs up in advance will receive a free skate park T Shirt sponsored by Chilly Bear.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 9  from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at the Greenwich Skate Park, located at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Arch Street. (rain date is scheduled for Sunday, September 10).
