2018 KITE FLYING FESTIVAL
2018 KITE FLYING FESTIVAL

The Annual Greenwich Kite Flying Festival will be held once again this spring at Greenwich Point Beach. The Department of Parks and Recreation, The India Cultural Center of Greenwich, and The Greenwich Arts Council are hosting this year’s event.

The Kite Flying Festival is a fun, family event that combines culture, recreation, and the arts to celebrate the start of the spring season. Enjoy live music, lunch at the beach, and kite flying! Participants only need to bring a kite to fly. The more creative, fun, and colorful the kite, the better! All kite fliers will be recognized with a participation ribbon. Gift certificates have been generously donated by Smart Kids Toys to be raffled off at the event. The India Cultural Center of Greenwich will also be providing a demonstration and instruction on the most popular Indian kite, the patang, which is an Indian fighter kite.

The place and time: Greenwich Point Beach – check-in area: Old Cow Barn, Saturday, April 21, at 11:00 A.M. (rain date, Sunday, April 22, at 11:30 A.M.). For rain date information, please call 203-861-6100.

Thank you to our hosts: Greenwich Recreation, Greenwich Arts Council, and India Cultural Center and sponsor, Smart Kids Toys!
