Solarize Greenwich Reaches Tier 3 Pricing
Solarize Greenwich Reaches Tier 3 Pricing

Solarize Greenwich is making it easier and economical for homeowners to go solar. Officially launched on Oct 2nd, Solarize Greenwich has already generated over 170 inquiries from residents interested in a free home assessment to see whether their home is a good fit for solar. With over 50 kW of residential solar power contracted to date, the program has now progressed into the Tier 3 discount level.

The Solarize program reduces the cost of solar by leveraging group discounts. As the number of homeowners who install solar increases, the price drops for everyone in Solarize Greenwich, encouraging buyers to tell their neighbors about the program. Savageau stated, “We are confident that we will reach the Tier 5 pricing level, thereby maximizing the discount potential of the program.”

Conservation Director Denise Savageau, who is coordinating the program with the CT Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA) says, “We are happy to see the program generating a high level of interest among homeowners and hope to significantly increase the number of solar installations in town. The fact that we have reached Tier 3 in under two months is evidence that our residents see real opportunity in solar.”

Homeowners interested in learning more about Solarize Greenwich can attend our informational workshop on Wednesday December 4th from 7:00-8:30pm at the Greenwich Audubon Center, 613 Riversville Road, Greenwich, CT. Renewable Resources, the official installer for Solarize Greenwich, will be hosting the event and providing refreshments, and will answer questions about the program and how solar works.
