Update September 4, 2015:

First aid stations will be manned and there will be walking beach patrols at both Greenwich Point and Island Beach for the entire Labor Day weekend.


UPDATE: September 1, 2015

To all Greenwich Beachgoers:

First aid stations will be staffed at Greenwich Point for the rest of the week with patrols on the weekend. Island Beach will only have weekend patrols.

To all Greenwich Beachgoers:

Due to the lifeguard shortage the Department of Parks and Recreation announces there will be NO Lifeguards on duty at Greenwich Beaches for the remainder of the season.  Only first aid stations will be staffed at Greenwich Point and Island Beach daily.  We urge all beachgoers to comply with all posted signs.

FERRY WILL OPERATE TO MEMORIAL ON SEPTEMBER 11TH

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the Great Captain Island Ferry will be running on the hour from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2015 free of charge (first come, first serve).  Our hope is that people will visit the 911 memorial to the 26 people with ties to the Town who lost their lives that day.   ...
