5/18: Shellfishing Experience at Greenwich Point! The Town of Greenwich Shellfish Commission is sponsoring its second annual " Experience the Sound" event at Greenwich Point on May 18th 2008 between 1pm and 4pm. The purpose of the event is to expand the Greenwich community's awareness of coastal marine life, the environment, nature and family oriented outdoor, recreational pursuits that exist on it's "door step".
Some thirty five local organizations will host exhibits at Greenwich Point that will include archery, scuba diving, fly fishing, sailing, Greenwich Crew , kayaking, cycling and archaeology.
The Soundwaters Schooner and the Atlantic Clam Farms Shellfish boat which will be moored at the Old Greenwich Yacht Club. Learn about the Schooner's educational voyages in local waters and how the Shellfish boat collects clams from Greenwich shellfish beds.
Listen to world renowned composer and recording artist, Tim Janis, a Greenwich native, known for his commitment to the environment as he performs some of his works, live. (www.timjanis.com)
