Pool Safety Alert
Recently the Town experienced the tragic loss of a young child involving pool safety equipment. Pool and spa accidents are all too common. Over the years, technology and code requirements have evolved to improve safety when applied appropriately. We would recommend that all pool owners contact their pool companies to inquire if they have applied and maintained these safety standards, inspect their pools and spas for conformance with current safety standards and make the appropriate upgrades as required. Things to look for include:
Suction outlet covers
Dual drain separation of suction outlets
Installation of atmospheric vacuum relief systems on all pool/spa pumps
All pool/spas should be appropriately fenced
All these features apply to pools, spas and hot tubs.
