Nat'l Sex Offender Database Includes CT Info Jodi Rell has announced that the state has contributed information on all of the sex offenders registered in Connecticut to the National Sex Offender Public Registry. Connecticut joins 48 other states on the national registry, which is located at www.nsopr.gov.
"Connecting to this national registry gives us another tool to safeguard our most vulnerable residents and prevent future tragedies," Governor Rell said.
"All of the 4136 registered sex offenders living, working or attending school in Connecticut will be included on this national website. Staff from our Departments of Information Technology and Public Safety worked very hard to create this link, and I commend them all on a job well done.
"Connecticut has always been aggressive in tracking, prosecuting and sentencing sexual predators. We must - and will - do everything we can to make our streets and neighborhoods as safe as we can. Connecticut was among the first states in the nation to pass a version of 'Megan's Law,' and our State Police have a specialized unit that tracks down on-line pedophiles."
