The goal of the Affirmative Action Office is to build a municipal and educational community of employees and educators from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying problem areas and resolving them through mediation.
  • Assisting with recruitment, job interviews, promotions and terminations.
  • Maintaining contacts with other governmental and civic agencies.
  • Annually reporting on the conditions of the affirmative action program both internally and to the public.
