Bruce Museum
Q. What are your hours and admission fees? A. The Bruce Museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday. Tuesday through Saturday hours are 10 - 5 p.m.. Sunday hours are 1 - 5 p.m. The Museum is closed to the public on Monday. Admission is free for Museum members. Adults are charged $5.00 per person; seniors and students $4.00. Children under five are admitted free.
Q. Is the Museum appropriate for children? A. Our permanent collection, "Changes in Our Land." contains a number of interactive exhibitions, as well as displays on Native Americans of this area, a world-class mineral collection, a diorama of the region and a marine tank. At least one of the four changing exhibitions shown will be an exhibition with interactive displays and geared to children. Our Education Workshop has of mounted animal specimens, crafts and eight "Discovery boxes" on subjects such as "Fur, Feathers and Scales," "Rocks and Minerals" and "Colors and Shapes."
Q. Can I schedule a trip to the Museum for my class or scout troop, or a group tour for adults? A. Special rates are charged for tours and field trips. All groups are accompanied by a docent or staff educator. For reservations call Anne Burns at (203) 869 6786 ext. 338.
Q. Do you rent your facility? A. The Museum space is rented to individuals, corporations and not-for profit groups before and after Museum business hours. It is an excellent space for receptions, presentations and small dinners. There are specific requirements and fees which can be discussed with Leslie McDonald at (203) 869-6786 ext. 329.
Q. How do I get to the Bruce? A. The Museum, adjacent to Bruce Park, is a short distance from exit 3 on I-95 and within walking distance of the Greenwich Metro-North Railroad Station.
