Q. Who may borrow materials from the Library? A. People who - live in Greenwich
- live in other towns in Connecticut
- work or go to school in Greenwich
- live in another state but have paid for a Library membership
Q. What do I need to get a library card here? A. Town residents need one of the following:
- A rental lease
- Phone or utility bill
- Realtor or lawyer's letter
- Moving papers
- Notarized owner's affidavit
- Current beach card
or a valid driver's license and one of these: - A school ID card
- Credit card or cable bill
- Insurance card/statement
- Voter's registration
- Bank statement or check
with name and address imprinted on it
People who live in other towns in Connecticut need to present a valid library card from their home library.
People who work or go to school in Greenwich, but live in another state need to give proof of this status.
Individuals or families who live in another state may purchase a year's Library Membership for $125
Q. How long may I keep materials? A. The Length of time that materials may be kept varies: - Books, Audio Books, CDs, and Audiotapes may be borrowed for three weeks
- Videocassettes may be borrowed for one week
- Interlibrary Loans may be borrowed for three weeks
- Art prints circulate for six weeks
Q. How much does it cost if I don't get my materials back on time? A. Overdue fines vary:
- Adult books, CDs and Audiocassettes: $.10 a day, $5 maximum
- Childrens books, CDs and Audiocassettes: $.05 a day, $3 maximum
- Videocassettes: $1 a day, $20 maximum
- Interlibrary loan materials: $1 a day, $20 maximum
- Lending art items: $1 a day, $20 maximum
