  • Q. How much will my medicine cost me?
    A.
The copayment for covered prescriptions will be determined by your union bargaining group. To check the cost of a prescription medicine through Caremark, log in to www.Caremark.com using your username/login ID and password, click on the “Prescriptions & Coverage” tab, and select Check Drug Cost from the menu on the left side of your screen.

    Q. How do I obtain an additional Caremark card?
    A.
Log in to www.Caremark.com with your username/login ID and password, click on the “Prescriptions & Coverage” tab, and then select Print Forms & ID Card from the menu on the left side of your screen. For a replacement card you can e-mail Customer Care at customerservice@caremark.com, or contact Customer Service at 866-559-6907.

    Q. Am I required to use mail order?
    A.
There is a mandatory mail order required for maintenance medication. A maintenance medicine is one that must be taken on a regular basis for chronic conditions. Ask your doctor to write one prescription for up to a 30-day supply for immediate needs for your short-term medicine to be filled at your local retail pharmacy and a second prescription for your mail service program with up to a 90-day supply of medicine along with the appropriate number of refills.

    Q. How do I order refills on maintenance medicines?
    A.
Caremark offers three convenient options for placing your refill order:

    1. Log in to www.Caremark.com with your username/login ID and password. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Click on the “Prescriptions & Coverage” tab, and then select Refill Prescriptions from the menu on the left side of your screen. Your prescriptions will be displayed for you, and you will be able to refill multiple prescriptions at once.
    2. Call Caremark toll-free at 1-800-213-0879. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Remember to write down your confirmation number at the end of the order.
    3. Complete a Caremark Participant Profile/Order Form, attach your refill labels to the form, and mail the form along with your enclosed check or money order for the appropriate co-payment. You may choose to pay with a credit card by simply writing your credit card number and expiration date on the order form.

    Q. How can I check on the status of my prescription order?
    A.
Log in to www.Caremark.com and click on the “Prescriptions & Coverage” tab, and then select Check Order Status. You also can call Caremark toll-free at 1-800-213-0879. Both are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

    Q. Should I ask my doctor to approve a generic substitution whenever possible?
    A.
Your prescription benefit is provided to ensure that you receive the most appropriate and effective treatment for your individual condition, while managing costs for both you and your employer. An effective way to control costs is through the use of generic medicines. A generic medicine is a copy that is identical to a brand name in dosage, safety, strength, how it is taken, quality, performance and intended use. Since generics use the same active ingredients and are shown to work the same way, they have the same risks and benefits as their brand name counterparts.

    Q. What medicines will Caremark cover?
    A.
You or your doctor can view a current list of covered medicines at www.druglist.com

    Q. I obtain a list of medications that require prior authorization?
    A.
To view a current list of medications that require prior authorization go to www.Caremark.com/druglist
