April 2010 Earth Month Events in Greenwich With only 23 days left until the April 22, 2010 and the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, local officials and environmentalists are planning a month-long celebration that runs from late March until early May. "Each Year in Greenwich, the First Selectman proclaims April as Earth Day Celebration Month and the Conservation Commission coordinates a calendar of events." stated Denise Savageau, Conservation Director. "With this being the 40th Anniversary, this year's calendar is very impressive - there is something for everyone and more events being added every day."
First Selectman Peter Tesei will offer the official proclamation on March 31, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Bruce Museum. This will be followed by a program on Stormwater presented by Save the Sound and co-sponsored by the Conservation and Planning and Zoning Commissions.
