NOTICE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT/INPUT
FIRST SELECTMAN'S PUBLIC HEARING ON THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE'S FUNDING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM YEAR 2011
The Honorable Peter J. Tesei, First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich, will hold a Public Hearing on July 26, 2010 (Monday) at 7:00 P.M. in the Town Hall Meeting Room (101 Field Point Road, Greenwich, CT 06830) to obtain comments from interested persons and/or organizations on the proposed funding recommendations of the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) for the Year 2011 Annual One Year Action Plan including community needs, goals and objectives and fair housing. The proposed activities recommended to be funded with 2011 CDBG grants are listed below. In addition, the CDAC also recommended 2010 funding for activities that can be started in 2010. The list will also be available during the public hearing or by contacting the Community Development Office during regular business hours (Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm) at the Greenwich Town Hall at (203) 622-3791.
Any individual, group or agency may submit written comments on the funding recommendations to the Town (CDBG Office or First Selectman's Office), 101 Field Point Rd., Greenwich, CT 06830. Mr. Tesei will consider all comments received by July 26, 2010 prior to making his final funding recommendations.

* Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County - Subsidy for Lease (Food Service Program) - $15,000. CDAC also recommended $3,000 of additional funding during program year 2010.
* Friends of Autistic People - Riding and Day Program (Phase I) - not recommended.
* Greenwich Adult Day Care - Health Program at GADC - $5,000
* Greenwich Family YMCA - Subsidy for Child Care Scholarship Funds - $11,000
* Jewish Family Services - Supermarketing for Seniors Program - $5,000. CDAC also recommended $3,000 of additional funding during program year 2010.
* Kids in Crisis - Medical & Psychiatric Services - $9,000
* Meals on Wheels of Greenwich, Inc. - Food Service Program - $10,000
* Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center - Scholarship for Child Care Program - $7,500
* Shelter for the Homeless - Food Service Program - $5,000
* St. Luke's LifeWorks - Administrative Support for the Women's Housing Shelter - $8,000
* Transportation Association of Greenwich - Purchase of Handicapped Accessible Van - $12,000 has been recommended during program year 2010.
* Urban League of Southern CT - Housing Sustainability & Mortgage Modification Program - not recommended.
* Utilize Senior Energy - Computer Training & Community Outreach - not recommended.
* YWCA of Greenwich - Domestic Abuse Crisis Intervention Services - $15,000. CDAC also recommended $3,000 of additional funding during program year 2010.
Rehabilitation/Acquisition Projects
* Abilis - Parking Lot Expansion Project - $47,500
* Domus - Domus House Wood Floor Replacement, Repair and Refinishing - not recommended.
* Family Centers - Arch Street Preschool Playground Renovation - $189,215.26
* Friends of Autistic People - Land Acquisition (Farm Living & Learning Academy for Adults with Autism) - not recommended.
* Greenwich Family YMCA - St. Roch's Day Care Rehab Project Phase II - $28,890. CDAC also recommended $74,330 of additional funding during program year 2010.
* Greenwich Preservation Trust - Lyon House Project (Phase I) - not recommended.
* Housing Authority of Greenwich - Installation of a New Elevator at MKT II - $250,000
* Housing Authority of Greenwich - Interior Rehabilitation at MKT II - $30,000
* Living Transformation International Center - Crossing Over To A Safe Haven (COTASH) - not recommended.
* Neighbor to Neighbor - Clothing Room Renovation - CDAC recommended $20,640 during program year 2010.
* Pathways - Installation of Emergency Generators (2 Group Homes) - $40,000. CDAC also recommended $40,000 during program year 2010.
* Shelter for the Homeless - Bed and Locker Replacement - $32,000
* Shelter for the Homeless - Interior Building Improvements - $70,000
* St. Luke's LifeWorks - Roof Replacement at 28 Rose Park Avenue - CDAC recommended $18,750 during program year 2010.
* YWCA of Greenwich - DAS Center Rehab & Elevator Replacement Project - $131,906
