Greenwich Applies for FEMA Grant On Feb. 17, 2004, the Town of Greenwich submitted a grant application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the snowstorm that occurred Dec. 5-7, 2003. The cost of the snowstorm was $242,265. FEMA reimburses communities for 75% of eligible costs. Therefore the Town of Greenwich expects a grant reimbursement of approximately $181,700 for the snowstorm. FEMA will review the grant application to verify eligible costs and may adjust the grant amount accordingly.
FEMA should send out the grant funds in the spring of 2004. The Town of Greenwich will receipt these grant monies to its General Fund per its policy.
