
Six Cases of Human West Nile Virus in CT The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health has reported a total of six (6) human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) in Connecticut this year. To date WNV has been identified in residents from the following communities - New Haven, Bristol, Hamden and Bridgeport. In addition, the virus has been isolated from mosquito pools in 17 towns throughout Connecticut, including Greenwich. The peak time for transmission of WNV to people is from now through September so the Greenwich Department of Health is urging residents to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
