Smart Card Parking Meters
To move ahead with better technology and up to date parking meters with an audit trail, the mechanical meters will be phased out and replaced with electronic meters. These electronic meters will have the capability to accept smartcards, which can be purchased from the Parking Services Office. They will also permit parking management to audit the amount of revenue that is deposited into the meters prior to collection, which is not a function of the mechanical meters.
