Senior Tax Relief
The Greenwich Assessor's Office is accepting applications for Tax Relief for Income Limited Senior
or Totally Disabled Homeowners. Applications will be received by mail until March 15, 2011.
After March 15th the completed applications must be dropped off at the Assessors Office prior to the
deadline of Friday, May 13, 2011 in order to qualify for tax relief for the July 2011 and January 2012
Tax Bills. New applicants may come into or call the Assessor's Office for assistance.
No applications will be accepted after Friday, May 13, 2011. Applicants must be age 65 by
December 31, 2010 or be Totally Disabled, as determined by the Social Security Administration.
The State of Connecticut Income Limited Senior or Totally Disabled Homeowners Credit sets an income limit for a single applicant that must not
exceed $32,300; married applicants must not exceed $39,500.
The Greenwich Local Senior Relief has an income limit of $60,000.

You must provide proof of all income for 2010. Acceptable proof of income should include
(but is not limited to) copies of your Federal Income Tax Return for 2010, Employment Income
Statement/s (W2's), Bank Statement/s (showing interest), Rental Income Statements and Social
Security Statements for 2010 (1099 SSA). If you are not required to file a Federal Income Tax
Return, an affidavit must be completed.
Income Limited Veteran's applications are also being taken. The income limits and proof of
income are the same as the limits outlined for the State Tax Relief Program. No age limit is required.
