Senior Tax Relief
The Greenwich Assessor's Office is accepting applications for Tax Relief for Income Limited Senior
or Totally Disabled Homeowners. Applications will be received by mail until March 15, 2010.
After March 15th the completed applications must be dropped off at the Assessors Office
prior to the deadline of May 15, 2010 in order to qualify for tax relief against the 2009 Grand
List Tax Bill. New applicants may come to the Assessor's Office
for assistance. No applications will be accepted after May 15, 2010. Applicants must be
over age 65 by December 31, 2009 or be Totally Disabled, as determined by the Social Security
Administration.
The State of Connecticut Income Limited Senior or Totally Disabled Homeowners Credit sets an income limit for a single applicant that must not
exceed $32,300; married applicants must not exceed $39,500.
The Greenwich Local Senior Relief has an income limit of $60,000.

You must provide proof of all income for 2009. Acceptable proof of income should include
(but is not limited to) copies of your Federal Income Tax Return for 2009, Employment
Income Statement/s (W2's), Bank Statement/s (showing interest), Rental Income Statements
and Social Security Statements for 2009 (1099SSA). If you are not required to file a Federal
Income Tax Return, an affidavit must be completed.
Income Limited Veteran's applications are also being taken. The income limits and proof of
income are the same as the limits outlined for the State Tax Relief Program. No age limit is required.
